Educate to Work

I have never been exposed to the workng field, yet I have much accomplished a goal and obstacle I had the courage to tackle. 2 summers ago, I enrolled in general education class-The fundamentals of Public Speaking;a typical requirement of an Associates in Arts Degree. In this course we were taught how to speak publicly, professionally, and how to do a job interview. This class was a six weeks course. It was a challenge alone to take a 6-weeks course, espically in college.

At the end of the course I came out with a "B" average, but this class taught me a more valuable lesson to be learned...How to do a job Interview.

I have Never worked before with the exception of volunteering...Never!

So,with the knowledge I gained from this class that stuck with me like glue...a year and a half later I took a workshop on my campus, and then I started searching for a job,and a couple of months of searching I found a job on campus,an in one of two of my favorite departments on campus( English and College Prep),I was offered a position as a receptionist in the english department were I currently work until I'm scheduled to complete my four-years at Miami Dade College at the end of this year.

I have been able to apply my knowledge from my classes into the working field.
