crossing barriers...

"It takes a little courage, and a little self -- control. And some grim determination, If you want to reach the goal. It takes a deal of striving, and a firm and stern-set chin. No matter what the battle, If you really want to win. There's no easy path to glory, There's no road to fame. Life, however we may view it, Is no simple parlor game; But it's prizes call for fighting, For endurance and for grit; For a rugged disposition and don't know when to quit".

As a child, not being able to do anything for herself, many people doubted what i am capable of , my expectation, and what i can,or cannot accomplish!

I have had many people underestimate my ability to do something. Everytime i personally doubt myself; In retrospect, I look what i've accomplish, and how many timesi've heard,oh she couldn't pull that off! to the point where its like an fly nagging in your ears! For everyone who knows my story & what i've been through just as an infant into a child. Now,i take a step back everytime i'm in distress and i say to myself, "Yasmin, you have crossed too many barriers ...to many people take one look and make assumptions, but as an adult now, you mustprove to no one,but yourself, what you CAN do"!

As easy as it sounds, believe me its not! There are many times i confide in others besides family that can get me to the point that i believe with all my might that i can do something without struggling!

Needless to say, I have my family aleays there giving me stories, of my childhood, and sharing the strengths I have to make everything that's a challenge seem as if its nothing.
There's not a day that doesn't go by that makes it worth while to fight for what i believe is a challenge, and occassionally, if a teacher/professor takes the time to catch up with what has been good in mylife, they tend to also say"you can crosss barriers because i've seen you do it before" there's nothing that stop me now ! LOL!!
